We support events run by the Dover Transport Museum in Willingdon Road, Whitfield, Dover. This fascinating attraction has many exhibits of interest to the moped enthusiast including a collection of small bikes which will evoke memories for many of us. The famous Norman brand was manufactured in Ashford, Kent, and is well-represented in the Museum. Although Dover has the reputation of being somewhere that you visit because you’re either going or have been somewhere else, this place is worth a detour. Check their website for opening times and admission charges. Your ticket is valid for a whole
year for multiple visits.
Several of us meet up with the East Kent Classic Motorcycle Club on a Wednesday evening at the East Kent Railway, a heritage line at Shepherdswell near Dover. It’s a great place to meet for coffee, a burger and a chat. You won’t be alone if you turn up on a moped as Andrew and I regularly fly the tiddler flag. It all happens between 6 and 8pm.
